A course's credit value is institutional and does not change between modes. PBL trimesters carry fewer courses per term than Regular semesters, so each PBL course gets a larger share of the term's contact-hour budget — more weekly hours, deeper engagement, same credits.
Per-term contact hours are roughly fixed (~36 CH/wk cap). PBL terms carry 4–6 courses; Regular semesters 6–9. The arithmetic forces each PBL course to deliver more weekly contact than its Regular twin. Theory: 3-0-0-0 → 4-1-0-0. Theory + lab: 3-0-2-0 → 4-1-2-0.
